What services does your company offer?

We provide professional in home (your home) cat sitting and let out services for dogs. These services are customized plans for your pet’s needs. We also offer “house sitting” services when you take your entire family on vacation.

Are your services insured and bonded?

Yes. Just Fur-Babies’ policies are underwritten by Evanston Insurance Company. This covers potential damage to your property and liability related to pet care while our employees are on duty.

Does your company utilize employees or Independent Contractors?

Just Fur-Babies team members are employees of the business, not Independent Contractors. This ensures consistent quality of service, through training/education, and full insurance coverage for your peace of mind. These are all a portion of expenses that the business absorbs. Our employees are paid hourly living wage with mileage and a few bonus options.

In our market research we have discovered that most local pet sitting companies hire Independent Contractors. A business owner cannot ensure the quality of their work because contractors self-determine when and how they work. They cannot go through onboarding, training or any type of education that would be provided by the business. Which means, no consistency! They are responsible for their own insurance coverage (liability and bonding), background checks and Worker’s Compensation is not available to them. If there is an injury at your home, your homeowner’s insurance will be responsible.

How are your employees screened and trained?

Our employees undergo a rigorous screening process including background checks, reference checks and in-person interviews. They receive comprehensive training in pet care, safety protocols and customer service before starting work. Each of our team members are certified in pet first aid/CPR and safety too.

What is Fear Free and why is it important?

Each of our team members is individually trained and certified as a Fear Free Professional. Fear Free is a manner of interacting with the pet which helps alleviate fear, anxiety and stress for the pet’s emotional wellbeing and enrichment. How do you ensure the safety and security of my home?

Our employees are trained in home security protocols. We use a secure key management system, and our staff follows strict guidelines for entering and leaving your property.

How do you enter my home?

We would prefer to use keys to enter your home. If you choose to use a code (front door or garage) we will require a key point of entry. An option would be a key on file in our office or we can supply you with a lock box ($25 fee) to be left out before your departure. We will no longer accept remote entry from your phone or key pick up before your departure.

How do I schedule a service?

You can schedule services through our website, mobile app or by calling/texting our office. We recommend booking at least 48 hours in advance. Two months in advance for holidays. Last minute services, we understand life happens and when it does, you can rely on us to be there for you and your pet(s). Once an established client, we can sometimes provide service the same day if needed. Keeping your keys on file with our company is one less detail to worry about. Do you administer medications?

Yes, we are trained in medication administration – pills, liquids and topical medications with most pets. We will partner with you and/or your veterinarian for specific instructions. We will make two attempts to administer medications, if your pet shows signs of fear, avoidance or aggression we will contact you for further instruction. Due to the extreme unpredictability of animals, we cannot accept responsibility for any complications in administering medications. We do not give injectable medications. Medication administration is at no additional cost.

Cancellation Policy

We understand plans can change. Any cancellations made 48 hours or less from the first day of the entire service will be charged a 50% cancellation fee for the entire service booked. Should any assigned service end early for any reason, all scheduled visits will be charged. Holiday booking cancellations must be made two weeks prior and will not get a credit of fees. If services (other than holiday bookings) are prepaid and are cancelled, a credit will remain on your account for six months.

Do you have an app to use?

Yes, Time to Pet has an app that you can download and use. IPhone users can download the app from the app store. Android users can download the app from Google Play. Look for “Time to Pet”

Download the app, use the same username and password as your website log in and you will be good to go!

What if there's an emergency with my pet while I'm away?

Our pet care specialists are Pet First Aid trained to stabilize your pet. We will attempt to contact you or your emergency contact immediately and take your pet to the veterinarian if necessary.

What vaccinations are required?

We require a current rabies vaccination certificate be on file. If your pet cannot have the rabies vaccination, a letter from your veterinarian must be submitted stating the medical reasons. This is for the safety of your pet and our team. Rabies vaccinations are also required by law in most cities.

How many times a day will you visit?

All services are customizable to meet the needs of your home and fur family. We will be happy to discuss your requirements and recommend a schedule that is best suited for your situation. We offer a minimum of one daily visit and can combine any services that will meet and exceed your expectations. Cat visits are required to be at least one visit per day, every day, no exceptions.

How do I receive updates about my pet while I'm away?

Our pet care specialists provide daily real time updates via email or through our app. Your pet will let you know all about their activities and well-being. Of course, photos and videos will be included!

How do I pay for services?

We accept various payment methods including credit cards through our secure online platform. Payment is typically due upon completion of services, except for holidays. Holiday services require a 50% deposit at the time of booking. This deposit is non-refundable.

What is the pricing policy for additional pets?

Just Fur-Babies does not charge per pet, our prices reflect the additional time to care for the additional pets. This can be discussed during your initial consultation.

Can I tip my pet care specialist?

Yes. Tips are not required, but always appreciated for a job well done! You may include them in your check, leave cash or have a tip put on your credit card. To use your credit card for tipping, you can include your tip with your invoice payment through Time to Pet. 100% of all tips go to your pet care specialist.

In addition, 100% of the extra charge for holiday services also goes to your pet care specialist.
